BABY'S COMIN!

I had the pleasure of shooting a maternity session this past week. This little baby due on Halloween.... My husband was born October 31st and my advice to anyone that has a Halloween baby - You don't need a cake on Halloween night, especially chocolate! It's junkfood overkill and hard on the tummy.. just thought you all needed to know that.. Anyway, here are some of my favs from this very fun session with the cutest little 2 year old... Issac, he stole the show with his big brown eyes and his super sweetness..

A RECENT MATERNITY SESSION

A few shots from my last maternity session!!  A very fun couple that are completely and totally excited to be welcoming their first baby into the world!!   Great energy together as you can tell from these shots!  That's going to be one very cute baby!!  That fourth shot is going into my "Images that speak to me folder"  It just really stirs up emotion & gives me a warm fuzzy....

 

ARGGGG!

I'm implementing a new studio software.  Since things are starting to get sooooo busy, I need to streamline things so I can stay organized!   It's THE most frustrating thing trying to fit something new into your workflow and figuring out a new program is like walking down a dark hallway...  I've been up until Midnight every night for a week working on it!   Clarke is starting to call me Star Trek Mom!!  The story behind that is a show on TV called, Trading Spouses, where one of the mom's plays Star Trek Video games on her computer 12 hours a day...  I didn't get his comment at first, the little bugger.  It's kinda funny, but really not!! 

So, although I'm keeping relatively caught up here burning the midnight oil, I appreciate everyone's understanding while I put myself through the ringer here....

MAMA U R PHAT!!

This is Kari, my beautiful assistant who is now pregnant.  I am trying to prepare for a huge shoot tomorrow, but I just couldn't resist skimming through these shots I took yesterday - WHOA HOT MAMA!  Yes, Kari, you may feel pregnant & frumpy, but you look AMAZING!

Maternity Photographs

Nothing is more beautiful than a pregnant belly.  If there's one thing about pop culture that has been a positive, it's the acceptance of a mama's growing belly.   I remember 10 years ago, being pregnant in the summer time.  I spent the entire summer walking around my townhouse in my bikini, it was so dang hot!  I scared the paper boy once, and some local neighbour kids that inadvertantly ran into my house!   The beach was no place to prance around in a bikini, oh no, not with a pregnant belly!    What I wouldn't give to be able to be a "today" mom, to bare all and be proud.  Being pregnant seems to last forever when you're in the thick of it, but in the blink of an eye, it's just a memory...  I would love to have had some photos of my pregnant belly, but it just wasn't my time - it just wasn't something that we did back then.  Lucky are the mom's of today that have the option to record their pregnancies...  so cool!  Here are some maternity photos taken on my funky new red couch in our Chilliwack studio!
