BRIAN & BREANNA - A HOT WEDDING

I shot Brian & Breanna's wedding on Saturday!!  Wow!! What a great day!!  It was HOT but not as sizzling as the bride, the groom and their amazing friends that made up their huge 16 member wedding party!!  I've never met so many great people in one group!  I was overwhelmed by their graciousness, friendships, & the general feeling of good energy.  This day will be one to remember!!    We had a couple of old cars to shoot with.... ahhhhh a Chevelle Malibu... brings back fond memories of my brother and I taking out my mom's 67 Chevelle.   It was a standard (3 on the tree), I was 14 my brother was 13 yelling shift!  shift!!....  man we were bad!   Here are some pics, with the  Black Malibu & an old Camaro...

A WINTER WEDDING

Sloppy5x710_2 Dsc_7054_3Time to break out some Wedding Images.   A nice cool Winter Wedding in celebration of our winter weather!  I always love to shoot outdoors no matter how nasty it is.  This was a particularly clear day, although it was REALLY cold, we braved it to get some great shots!

Urban Engagement Session

This session was so fun!  We were all  on the same style page when it comes to the type of photography that I can really get into. This engagement session was done on Five Corners in Chilliwack!   I can't really even pick my favs, there were so many.... Where have I been??

Busy!!  Handling the busiest month of shooting I think I've ever had!!  A huge range of jobs to keep me excited and inspired which is SO cool!   AND a GREAT bunch of people that I've had the pleasure of working with.  I just love meeting new people!!   Here's some samplings of some stuff I've been working on!

Maibabyboytemplatefinnemail_3 This is Finn! Isn't he CUTE!!   The newest edition to one of my favorite families whom I've had the pleasure of shooting for since their first pregnancy 3 years ago.  Finn has soft long dark hair....

055whettercopy_2 This is Duncan, Finn's brother - he's three years old.

He love's coming over for photos because my girls play with him when we need to entertain him while we're shooting.   During this photoshoot he was asking:  "Where are my girlfriends?"Dsc_0032

This is a job that I shot for Sotheby's International Realty, and I made the fire myself.  It took awhile with no newspaper...but we worked it!!  That roaring fire took place on a nice hot summer's day..

Family Photos in Chilliwack

Here's a recent engagement session that actually doubled as a family session!  These were taken in downtown Chilliwack...  It was great to get back outside to do some shooting.    One nice day in between days of endless rain!!  This is Val & Jerry and their two sweet, lovely children. Val & Jerry are finally tying the knot in August!

Downtown

The wedding season is just getting started and I've got some fantastic clients that are just so much fun, easy going and of course, in love!  Engagement Sessions are all the rage now....  and so is an urban backdrop.  So here we are shooting in downtown Chilliwack, it is just so funky.... who would have thought?  Cool brick walls, architecture & traffic.  Love it!   The engagement session is a great time to get to know each other and scout out locations for the wedding day.  Here's Crystal & Marcus:

Take my advice!

Let me tell you about the story of my Wedding Day.....  It went by way to quickly, and I don't have a lot of photos to show for it.  Unfortunately, at that time, I was young and inexperienced in life.  I didn't have the foresight to see what might really be important to me in the future.  I was the type of bride that didn't really want a huge wedding.  I just wanted to be married.   So, I did what you do, got a dress, a tux, and a few people to stand up for me, some important guests, and yummy food..... I was in heaven.  Now, flash ahead 11 years later, three kids and still happily, blissfully married.  What's missing here?  Well, the wedding pictures.  Don't get me wrong.  I do have some wedding pictures, that were taken by my brother - yeah, he had a "good camera" doesn't everyone??  But that doesn't equal "good pictures".  I always say, that I like to learn the hard way and I definately did.   Probably more so than the average person, because now, I am a Professional Photographer, and every day I am reminded as to what I don't have - Professional Wedding Photos.   That day is gone forever, and my kids are just starting to ask about our wedding and what was it like....  If I had some decent pictures, I might be inclined to dig deep for them, but I know that it will make me cringe to look at the horrible boring photos, that could have been beautiful memories.   If only I wasn't so cheap!  I hope whoever reads this is listening... I tell this story to my clients over and over again and I've never had a bride regret spending the money on their photos.
